John Denver is a popular musician and singer who has been able to touch many by his lyrics. A lot of them were inspired by Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in love with Colorado and eventually relocated to Aspen. Denver's state anthems inspired numerous people to go to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared it was because John Denver is the only performer to embody Colorado. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its the first member in 2011. He is now Colorado's international image. On my journeys around the world, I have met many people who are not from Colorado. People will beg, "Oh John Denver!" when they hear that you're from Colorado. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's first Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time in small Folk Music Groups. The track was written by Bill Danoff. Danoff had Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver discovered that it was destined to turn into a hit once it was discovered that an earlier version. Danoff recorded the song within a couple of days of playing on stage in Washington D.C. before an audience that was very enthusiastic.
